摘要:
As a supraglottic airway device, laryngeal mask airway (LMA) presents several advantages over traditional endotracheal intubation, with numerous studies indicating a comparative reduction in airway complications.1,2 Nevertheless, airway complications with LMA are still worthy of our attention, for the occurrence of postoperative sore throat (POST) after anesthesia with LMA has been reported to range between 5.8% and 34%.3 Inflammation of the airway is considered an important factor in the airway complications with LMA.4 Chamomile extract has garnered attention for its anti-inflammatory capabilities, functioning in a manner akin to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).5 The primary objective of this study was to examine the efficacy of compound chamomile and lidocaine hydrochloride (CCLH) gel (STADA Arzneimittel AG), in comparison to normal saline, as a lubricant in decreasing airway complications when LMA is utilized.
