The cerebrospinal fluid pressure (CSF-P) in the orbit is the physiological counter-pressure against the intraocular pressure across the lamina cribrosa [1]. Recent studies suggested that a low CSF-P may be associated with normal-pressure glaucoma [2-6]. It may thus be interesting to assess the physiologic associations between CSF-P and systemic parameters, in particular those connected with blood pressure, since a low blood pressure has been reported to be connected with normal-pressure glaucoma [7-9]. Since blood pressure is strongly correlated with the body mass index, we performed the present study to examine whether the CSF-P is correlated with the body mass index in a non-glaucomatous control group.
