To analyze magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features of confusable tumors including cavernous hemangioma, cavernous lymphangioma and neurilemmoma located at orbital apex, which could provide evidences for diagnosis and surgical treatment.MRI was performed on 16 cases with tumors of orbital apex confirmed by pathology, and their MRI findings were analyzed.The time taken to attain complete enhancement after contrast on MRI was significantly different in the three types of tumor (P < 0.01) Their enhancement patterns were related to their pathologic findings.The different enhancement patterns of various tumors of orbital apex are characteristic for diagnosis and differential diagnosis.
