The first issue of the Asia-Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology (APJO) in 2025 features a wide range of topics, including two inaugural consensus
articles in a planned series of similar articles for the year. The first
consensus article by Ruamviboonsuk et al. presents consensus and
guidelines on the diagnosis and treatment of polypoidal choroidal vas
culopathy (PCV) from the Asia-Pacific Vitreo-retina Society (APVRS).1
PCV is important due to its distinction from classic exudative neo
vascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and its high preva
lence among Asian populations.
